Kymberly R. Schroder

Kymberly has been in practice for more than 18 years, focusing her talents on criminal defense and family law litigation.

Kymberly grew up in Marquette, Michigan and obtained her undergraduate degree in psychology from Northern Michigan University. Prior to attending the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, Kymberly worked for major medical centers in Oklahoma and for a world-renowned surgical research laboratory at the University of Michigan. For that reason, she started her legal career defending physicians, hospitals, and auto-insurers throughout lower-Michigan. After several months, Kymberly learned that she was not satisfied working for faceless insurance corporations and longed for a career where her skills would make a difference in the lives of real people. She left the insurance industry and has spent nearly 20 years defending people throughout the State of Michigan against criminal charges and helping people resolve their divorce, child-custody, and child-protective services cases.

Kymberly combines her education in psychology and law to provide a compassionate approach to the practices of criminal defense and family law. Some cases need aggressive litigation skills in the courtroom, while other cases need common-sense negotiation skills outside of the courtroom. Some cases need both. In addition to her education and professional skills, Kymberly is also a step-parent, which gives her a first-hand understanding of the effects of divorce and parenting-time schedules on you and your children.

Once each semester, Kymberly and Jeff lecture at Western Michigan University about the challenges and rewards of the modern practice of criminal defense and family law, which requires litigation talent in the courtroom and strategic planning outside the courtroom.

Whether your case is a misdemeanor retail fraud, a high profile murder, a contentious divorce or custody case, or a routine modification of child support, Kymberly will provide your case with the skill, care, and attention to detail that you deserve from your attorney.

If you have been charged with a crime, if you need help or advice involving custody, parenting time, or child support, or if you have been charged with child abuse and neglect, please give us a call. We would be more than happy to provide you with a free consultation. We promise that you will receive the respect and kindness that you deserve.
