Homicide

Homicides, murder charges in the first degree, second degree or felony murder are as much about facts as they are about politics and optics. The best defense is the one starts as quickly as possible. While most of us believe the police are employed to protect us, but if you’re the focus of an investigation then they’re building a case against you – not fighting for your rights. We have years of experience fighting in courtrooms and behind the scenes to protect our clients.

Sex Crimes

Sex crimes refer to criminal offenses of a sexual nature.

Commonly known sex crimes include, rape, child molestation, sexual battery, lewd conduct, possession and distribution of child pornography, possession & distribution of obscene material, prostitution, solicitation of prostitution, pimping, pandering, indecent exposure, lewd act with a child, & penetration of the genital or anal region by a foreign Object.

Drug Crimes

Drug crime is the umbrella term used to describe different offenses involving controlled substances. Each state & the federal government have enacted laws against unlawful possession, use, distribution, or production of certain drugs. These include cocaine, heroin, marijuana & amphetamines.

Drunk Driving & Traffic Violations

Traffic violations are generally divided into major & minor types of violations. The most minor type are parking violations, which are not counted against a driving record, though a person can be arrested for unpaid violations. Next are the minor driving violations, including speeding & other moving violations, which usually do not require a court appearance. Then there are more serious moving violations, such as reckless driving or leaving the scene of an accident. Finally there is drunk driving, also called Driving Under the Influence (DUI), which is a classification onto itself.

Domestic Violence & Assault

Laws vary by state, but domestic violence is generally defined the crime of assault where the victim is a current or former spouse, parent, child, any person with whom the defendant has a child in common, a present or former household member, or a person who has or had a dating or engagement relationship with the defendant. A person may often be arrested for domestic violence without a warrant.

An assault is any unlawful attempt or offer with force or violence to do bodily harm to another, whether from ill will or extreme carelessness; for example, by striking at or holding up the fist at a person in a threatening or insulting manner, or with other circumstances that evidence an intention, coupled with a present ability, of actual violence against the person, such as by pointing a weapon at him when he is within reach of it. When the injury is actually inflicted, it amounts to a battery.

CPS Child Protective Services

Child protective custody is used in the context of family law when authorities believe a child’s health or welfare is in danger. A social worker or police officer can place a child into protective custody if he or she believes immediate action is needed to protect a child from abuse or neglect. Laws generally require a parent to receive written notice listing the date and time for a protective custody hearing which is typically required to be held within a short period, such as a few days, after a child has been placed into protective custody.

Firearms

Gun-related violence is violence committed with the use of a gun (firearm or small arm). Gun-related violence may or may not be considered criminal. Criminal violence includes homicide (except when & where ruled justifiable), assault with a deadly weapon, and suicide, or attempted suicide, depending on jurisdiction.
